the staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in at 5:30 a.m. and providing us with a room to shower and change before our evening bus. They also booked a fantastic boat tour for us and offered complimentary chilled bottled water. Special shoutout to Denna, who spoke excellent English and gave us great recommendations for exploring the area, including bike rental. the rooms were unique with wooden clad walls and a spacious, comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order with plenty of options. the location was convenient, within walking distance of town and the pier.
Can't think of anything 🤷♀️

I chose this hotel for attending a meeting and they provided a business center, which was very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, making my stay comfortable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest. a great experience.
The only service I missed for my work was a dedicated work desk in the room. It would have been helpful to have a designated space to set up my laptop and work comfortably.

The staff here were absolutely amazing, going above and beyond to make our stay mind-blowingly fantastic! They were super friendly and helpful, even organizing trips and onward travel for us and other guests. The room was jaw-droppingly beautiful, with wooden decor throughout and a lovely balcony. We were treated to a delicious and varied breakfast every morning, and there was even complementary water in the fridge at reception. The location was perfect, with tons of GREAT restaurants nearby and a bike hire shop next door. The beds were unbelievably comfy and the air conditioning kept us nice and cool. Plus, the hotel was in the process of upgrading to fibre wifi - how cool is that? We had a truly unforgettable stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

As trekkers and a group of friends, we absolutely loved our stay at the Golden Empress Hotel. the staff was incredibly nice and helpful, making us feel right at home. the rooms were big, clean, and nicely decorated, and we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious patio. the hotel also offered a very good breakfast, which was a great way to start our days exploring Myanmar. In terms of value for money, this place was the best we've come across so far. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay.
Felt really like home, no complaints.

We had a fantastic time at this charming hotel! the room had a beautiful wooden design that made us feel like we were staying in a temple. the breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the banana chocolate pancake that I couldn't get enough of. the staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to everything and there are plenty of restaurant options nearby. We also loved that the hotel had its own boat and driver for affordable trips down the lake.
That there can be some morning chanting from a nearby monastery or school, but it wasn't a major inconvenience. it was a perfect stay and we highly recommend this place for a city break.

The hotel's traditional Shan style decoration was absolutely delightful. The wooden furnishings and cozy ambiance created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The common areas, including the garden and restaurant, were beautifully maintained and provided a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the day. , the hotel's central location made it easily accessible for senior individuals like myself, with everything just a short 2-minute walk away. It was such a joy to explore the town and return to this charming hotel.
If I could ask for one improvement for a better vacation experience for senior people, it would be to have handrails installed in the hallways and stairwells. This would provide extra support and ensure the safety of all guests, especially those who may require a little more assistance.

Title: Delightful Stay for Seniors
The only improvement I would suggest for senior vacationers is to have staff readily available to assist with carrying luggage, especially for those with limited mobility. It would have been more convenient if the children working there could provide this extra helping hand when needed.

Impeccable Service: The staff at the hotel provided service that was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met, making me feel like royalty during my stay.
Dusty Streets: Common spaces could be cleaned more regularly, particularly the streets surrounding the hotel.

The hotel had a charming rustic vibe with wooden decor and antique furnishings. the staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting activities in the area. the location was convenient, with a reliable bike rental shop nearby.
The towels provided were old and dirty, showing signs of previous use. the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, fluctuating between very hot and cold.
